Dan Cox is a sound engineer, mixer and music producer from East London, UK. He has been in the recording profession for over 10 years, and in 2014 won Breakthrough Engineer of the Year at the MPG Awards.
Dan is probably best known for his work with the singer-songwriter Laura Marling, whose 5th studio album Short Movie he recorded, co-produced and mixed, and former Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore on his solo album The Best Day. Dan’s credits also include Lianne La Havas, Florence and The Machine, Rae Morris, Tom Odell, Fyfe Dangerfield, Three Trapped Tigers and many more.
In 2007 he co-founded Urchin Studios in Hackney with drummer and producer Matt Ingram, and since then this has been his main base for recording, production and mixing in London.
Dan is also an Executive Director of the Music Producer’s Guild (MPG).
